James M. Fox, MD is board certified by the America Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the orthopedic program of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City.
He was the first fellow in sports medicine at the National Athletic Health Institute in Inglewood California 1973-1974 working with doctors Kerlan, Jobe and Blazina. Following this he served as a major in the United States Air Force. He was the founding partner of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. In December 2005 Dr. Fox left SCOI and is now in private practice.
Dr Fox has participated as a team physician for numerous local high schools and junior colleges through out the San Fernando Valley. He also worked with the Olympic soccer program during 1984. He is listed in Marquis “Who’s Who” and also in their medical professional’s edition. Complementing his academic and professional interest is his participation in skiing, golf, and hiking.
Professionally he has an extensive list of scientific publications, book chapters and text books for his fellow physicians and the general public. He is a member of the America academy of orthopedic surgeons, America College of surgeons, arthroscopy association of North America and numerous other societies. He has been fortunate to have lectured though out the world including Europe, Australia, Argentina, Japan, and China..
