Evan J. Bachner, M. D.

Originally from New York, Dr. Bachner received his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. After a Surgery internship at North Shore University Hospital, he completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was also Chief Resident under the direction of renowned hand surgeon, Dr. Avrum Froimson. Dr. Bachner performed fellowships in Orthopaedic Research at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, and in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Bachner is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, a member of the Los Angeles County and California Medical Associations, and the California Orthopaedic Association. He has given numerous lectures at local and national meetings and has published numerous scientific articles, and authored Orthopaedic textbook chapters concerning sports injuries, and arthroscopic techniques in shoulder surgery.
Dr. Bachner specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Reconstructive Surgery of Shoulder, Knee, Elbow, and Ankle. His personal interests include tennis, skiing, fitness training, and soccer. Previously, he coached in the West Valley Soccer League and served as a team physician for a number of local sports teams. He has volunteered as the Oak Park High School team physician since 1999. Dr. Bachner lives in the Conejo Valley and has been practicing in West Hills since 1993. He is currently available to see patients in both West Hills and Westlake Village.



Robert H. Fields, M.D.


Dr. Fields was born in New York City and raised in the New York metropolitan area. He received his undergraduate education in Cleveland, Ohio, obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University. His medical education continued at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Fields completed a surgery internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City followed by an Orthopaedic Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery was completed at the Washington Orthopaedic and Knee Clinic under the direction of Mike Malek, M.D. in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Dr. Fields is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, and the Los Angeles County and California Medical Associations. He is on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Medical Association and on the Board of Trustees at West Hills Hospital and Surgery Center. He is also a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council.
Dr. Fields’ practice includes General Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery. . Dr. Fields is also a team physician for many local high school football teams. His personal athletic interests include biking, tennis and fitness training. He lives in the West Valley with his wife and children and has been practicing in the area since 1986.




Eli Ziv, MD

was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley where he attended Birmingham High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and obtained his MD degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Ziv completed a five-year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC). His training time was divided between the L.A. County-USC Medical Center, the USC University Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Following residency, Dr. Ziv spent a year in fellowship training at the renowned NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York with several acclaimed hand surgeons including Martin Posner, MD and Steven Green, MD.
Dr. Ziv is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, and the Los Angeles County and California Medical Associations.
Dr. Ziv’s practice includes Surgery of the Hand and Elbow, and surgical and non-surgical treatment of fractures. He is also the team physician for the Chaminade High School football team. Dr. Ziv lives in the West Valley with his wife and 3 children.


Kevin A. Nadel

Dr. Nadel grew up in Newport Beach, California before heading east for his education and medical training. He received his undergraduate education at Cornell University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree, and then continuing his education at Chicago Medical School, Finch University of Health Sciences where he received both Masters and Medical degrees. Following an Orthopaedic Residency at the State University of New York Stony Brook campus, Dr. Nadel completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Boston Medical Center under the direction of Anthony Schepsis, MD. He has served as the team physician for the Boston University and University of Massachusetts – Boston athletic teams and continues working with athletes, now volunteering as the physician for the El Camino High School football team. Dr. Nadel is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His practice includes Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Reconstructive Surgery of the Shoulder, Elbow, Knee, and Ankle, as well as General Orthopaedics and fracture care. He joined the Center for Orthopaedic Specialists in 2005. Dr. Nadel’s personal interests are rock climbing, surfing, tennis, skiing, and golf. He resides in the West Valley and is currently available to see patients in both West Hills and Westlake Village.


Umesh T. Bhagia, M.D.

Originally from Baroda, India, Umesh Bhagia, M.D. did his internship at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut and completed his residency in Orthopaedic surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He recently completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Bhagia is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Bhagia’s practice includes Adult Reconstruction of the hip, shoulder and knee, as well as general orthopaedics and surgical and non-surgical treatment of fractures He is well versed in the latest techniques including minimally invasive surgery, gender knee, hip resurfacing and computer navigation assisted surgery.
